Investigation continues into Oak Park apartment building fire

OAK PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- The State Fire Marshall inspected an Oak Park apartment building Thursday that sustained heavy fire damage Tuesday night.

Residents of the building, located in the 200-block of Washington Boulevard, are not being allowed in yet to see what they can salvage from their homes.

All 40 residents made it out safely, although many did not have insurance and escaped with only the clothes on their backs.

There's no word yet what ignited the fire.
