BROOKFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- Double the cuteness at Brookfield Zoo! Two baby bison - a male and female- were born just days apart.
The calves can be seen playing together over the weekends in the Great Bear Wilderness exhibit. The male calf was born to Leotie, 5, on May 31. The female calf was born to Lucy, 5, on June 6. They share the same dad- Ron, 14.
Brookfield Zoo has seven bison in its herd. They live at the Great Bear Wilderness Exhibit, which is undergoing general maintenance. Therefore the calves and the rest of the herd are on display on Saturdays and Sundays, but not during the week.
