Village People to perform at Pierogi Fest in Whiting

WHITING, Ind. (WLS) -- The kings of disco - The Village People - will perform at Whiting, Ind.'s, Pierogi Fest in July.

The Village People have sold more than 100 million records and are known for their mega hits "Macho Man" and "YMCA." They will perform live on stage at Oil City Stadium at 8 p.m. Saturday July 30. All tickets are $20 and will be sold through Ticketmaster subsidiary Universe.com, www.pierogifest.net, or by contacting the Whiting Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce at 219 659-0292.

Pierogi Fest, which runs July 29-31, has been called the Midwest's "wackiest" festival by TripAdvisor, festival organizers say. The festival marks its 22nd year in 2016.

Organizers say the est features more than 100 food booths; 80 arts and crafts booths, 25 Tchotchke vendors, five performance stages and the "craziest parade known to man!"
