Preparing plants ahead of first fall frost

WILMETTE, Ill. (WLS) -- As of Tuesday, the ABC 7 AccuWeather team has been researching the potential of frost for parts of the Chicago area this weekend.

Chicago's average date for the first frost is October 15. Jennifer Brennan, horticulturist with Chalet Home & Garden in Wilmette, Illinois offered advice for people ahead of the pending first frost.
