Rauner participates in North Side's von Steuben Day Parade

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Republican candidate for Illinois governor Bruce Rauner participated in the German American von Steuben Day Parade on the city's North Side.

It stepped off Saturday afternoon at Irving Park and Lincoln Avenue.

The parade celebrates General Friedrich von Steuben who came to America as a military volunteer to help General George Washington train soldiers in the Revolutionary Army.
