CHICAGO (WLS) -- One man's mission to get a Chicago restaurant to bring back a dessert he remembers eating as a kid has paid off.
In a post on Reddit, that man offered $300 to anyone who could get him a Portillo's lemon cake, which has been off the menu for 10 years.
The request went viral and Portillo's offered to make the man a special cake just for him.
But he didn't stop there. He starting an online petition to get the cake back on the menu.
In a YouTube video published Tuesday, Portillo's announced it is officially bringing back the lemon cake for a limited time, from June 13 to July 31, while supplies last.
Talk about having your cake and eating it too!
