HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A man was arrested after a woman was sexually assaulted while exercising near a bayou near Houston, according to the Office of Harris County Constable Precinct 1 Alan Rosen.
During a press conference Tuesday, Rosen said 19-year-old suspect Jacoby Fuselier was identified as the suspect and was arrested in connection with the incident.
Pct. 1 said the woman was walking along White Oak Bayou in the Inwood area at around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, when she was attacked and fought a man who sexually assaulted her and then attempted to drown her.
Rosen said the woman struggled but managed to get away, ran to her car, and flagged a deputy.
After gathering information, Pct. 1 said they were able to track down Fuselier, who had allegedly whistled at another woman while riding his bike in the area.
"He fled initially, but we were able to get him into custody," Rosen said on Tuesday.
Rosen added that the 19-year-old is also being investigated by other law enforcement agencies and has been arrested by Pct. 1 before for theft of a firearm, which he was convicted of.
The constable urged everyone to be vigilant and pay attention to their surroundings while walking or biking on a trail.
