2 men arrested for shootings on Chicago expressways, state police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two men have been arrested for separate shootings earlier this month on Chicago expressways.

Illinois State Police arrested 22-year-old Aldo Ruiz of Wonder Lake and 36-year-old Lamarkcus Ferguson of Country Club Hills this week.

ISP said Ruiz is responsible for a shooting July 12 on the I-90 Kennedy Expressway near East River Road on the city's Northwest Side.

One person was hurt, police said.

Ruiz has been charged with attempted murder.

Ferguson was charged in a shooting that happened July 9 on the I-94 Dan Ryan Expressway near 47th Street, state police said.

Two people were hurt in that incident.

Ferguson is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm, ISP said.

No further information was immediately available.
