Woman dies after multi-vehicle crash in Batavia, 3 others injured, police say

BATAVIA, Ill. (WLS) -- A woman had died following a crash involving three vehicles Wednesday in Batavia that left three other people injured, police said.

The crash happened just at the start of the evening rush Wednesday near Randall Road and Mill Street.

Batavia police said a Tesla was trying to turn left when it collided with a Dodge pickup truck.

A passenger in the Tesla, a 37-year-old woman, was initially reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries. In an update Thursday, police said the woman died as a result of the crash.

The Kane County Coroner's Office has not yet identified the woman.

A third vehicle was also involved, but was not badly damaged.

No further information was available as Batavia police continue to investigate.
