Man shot to death in Bronzeville, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was shot to death on the city's South Side on Sunday afternoon, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the Bronzeville neighborhood's 2600-block of South Dearborn Street just after 4:30 p.m.

A 23-year-old man was outside when someone shot him in the chest and back, police said.

The victim was transported in critical condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.

No one is in custody, and Area Three detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
