Woman critically injured in West Englewood stabbing, suspect in custody, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman was critically injured after being stabbed multiple times Saturday morning on the South Side.

Chicago police say the 28-year-old woman was first attacked inside a home in the 7200 block of South Damen Avenue during a fight with someone she knew.

The victim tried to leave, but investigators say the same offender confronted her again nearby and stabbed her several more times.

She was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition, CPD said.

One person was taken into custody and charges are pending, police said.
