Chicago police release video of suspect wanted in shooting of 6-year-old on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have issued an alert about a person they are seeking in connection with the shooting of a child on the city's South Side.

The shooting took place around 8:54 p.m. on June 30 near East 51st and South Cottage Grove Avenue.

Police released video of the person they suspect of discharging the firearm, which left a 6-year-old victim injured.

No further information about the shooting was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
