
JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) -- A deadly crash shut down Interstate 55 in the south suburbs on Sunday morning, Illinois State Police said.
The crash happened at about 5:12 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-55 at Black Road in Joliet, police said.
ISP confirmed it was a deadly crash. No information about the victims was available.
At 8:40 a.m. police said all southbound lanes were closed.
Traffic was being diverted off I-55 southbound at U.S. Route 30.
Video shows at least three vehicles left with damage in the crash.
One appeared to have caught fire and veered off the highway.
