Chicago weather: Blowing Dust Advisory issued for parts of area Monday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect for parts of the Chicago area Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued the alert for Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall, LaSalle . Livingston and Will counties in Illinois and Jasper, Lake and Newton counties in Indiana from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time.

ABC7 Accuweather Meteorologist Tracy Butler said very dusty conditions were reported in central Illinois Sunday, bringing concerns for poor visibility with winds picking up Monday afternoon, especially in open agricultural areas.

The NWS said visibility could lower to as low as a quarter of a mile, creating hazardous driving conditions.
