Red Line service disrupted on South Side after medical emergency on tracks: CTA

CHICAGO (WLS) -- CTA Red Line service was disrupted on the South Side Monday afternoon due to a medical emergency on the tracks near 69th Street, the CTA said.

The CTA said service was suspended between Garfield and 95th Street.

Chicago Fire Department officials said a person was dead on the scene.

It's not immediately clear how the person ended up on the tracks.

Trains were only operating between Howard and 47th streets.

Trains are now running with major delays, and bus shuttles are available from 43rd to 95th streets.

CTA riders should consider other routes, like the No. 29 State, No. 30 South Chicago or No. 67 buses.
