Man found shot to death inside vehicle on Far South Side, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was found shot to death inside a vehicle on Chicago's Far South Side on Friday night, police said.

Police said the 23-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the East Side neighborhood's 11300-block of South Avenue G just before 10 p.m.

The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers recovered a weapon from the scene. Area Two detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
