
DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- The embattled former mayor of Dolton is celebrating a new political victory, this time in the Atlanta area.
Tiffany Henyard has won her Republican nomination for the fifth district seat on Fulton County Board of Commissioners in Georgia.
Last year, Henyard lost her jobs as Dolton mayor and Thornton Township supervisor amid several controversies and investigations.

Henyard launched her Georgia campaign with a post on social media last month, talking about her decision to run as a Republican.
She's facing a residency challenge in Georgia. Meanwhile, she remains under investigation in Illinois for her handling of Dolton's finances.
