
GLENCOE, Ill. (WLS) -- A woman and a dog died after being struck by a UP-N Metra train in the north suburbs, police said.
Glencoe police were called to the intersection of Green Bay Road and Maple Hill Road on Saturday at about 9:35 a.m.
Police said a woman and a dog were struck by a Union Pacific North railroad line Metra train. Police said both died at the scene.
It appeared the female pedestrian was crossing the tracks when she was fatally struck, police said.
Metra police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating.
No other details were available.
