The Beter Business Bureau is warning people about reports of fake tickets and fake seats, look-alike websites, and social media scams.

You may not know it until you're turned away at the gate.

Buy from the source. Stick to the venue box office or the event's official website.

Be careful on internet searches. Fake sites can pop up first in search results.

Always use a credit card for protection. Avoid cash, debit, and wire transfers.

Be extra cautious if you're buying from online classifieds or social media, many which may seem too good to be true.

You can also look up the seller on BBB.org, and make sure the website starts with "https" and shows a lock icon before paying.
