Smash-and grab thieves target Lakeview Ulta store, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Smash-and-grab thieves targeted an Ulta Beauty store on Chicago's North Side on Friday night, police said.

Police said officers responded to a call about a retail theft in the Lakeview neighborhood's 3000-block of North Clark Street around 8:50 p.m.

Officers spoke with staff, who told them that two suspects, a male and a female, entered the store before forcibly opening the display case and taking merchandise, police said.

The suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported.

No one is in custody, and Area Three detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information.
