Man found shot to death inside vehicle in Lawndale, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was found fatally shot inside a vehicle on Chicago's West Side on Sunday evening, police said.

Police said officers responded to call about shots fired in the Lawndale neighborhood's 4700-block of West Arthington Street just before 8 p.m.

Responding officers found an unresponsive 31-year-old man who had been shot in the chest, police said.

The Chicago Fire Department transported the victim to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.

Area Four detectives are investigating.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
