Pedestrian stuck, killed by vehicle in Schererville, police say

SCHERERVILLE, Ind. (WLS) -- Police are investigating a deadly crash Tuesday in Northwest Indiana.

A male pedestrian was crossing U.S. 41 just north of West Lincoln Highway around 5:55 p.m. when a vehicle hit him, Schererville police said.

The pedestrian died, police said. His identity and age were not yet known.

The driver stayed on the scene and was cooperative, officials said.

Police are still investigating the crash.
