
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Here's a quick travel scam tip as you plan summer and spring travel.
The tech security group "BrandShield" says it's seeing a surge of scammers flooding the internet with fake travel websites trying to steal your money.
Their latest analysis uncovered thousands of suspicious links like these, posing as legitimate brands.
Be careful what you click when you search. Scammers create lookalike websites with slightly altered URLs to trick you. Look for "https" and the padlock icon.
If a site has poor spelling and no customer support, that's a red flag.
Also, slow down. Scammers push urgency with "last chance" deals to rush you.
And if price seems too good to be true, it probably is.
