CHICAGO (WLS) -- Looking for a job? The Better Business Bureau says scammers are working overtime.
A recent BBB study found reports of employment scams doubled in 2025.
One of the fastest-growing schemes is a so-called "task" job that promises easy money for liking videos or subscribing to channels, but then the scammers demand fees before you can cash out.
You should never pay to get paid. Legitimate employers won't ask you to pay taxes, fees, or deposits to unlock your wages.
Also, go to a company's official website and make sure the position is officially listed before sharing personal information.
If you're offered a job without a real interview, it could be a scam.
