The Chicago Crusader is a newspaper with a rich history in Chicago.
It has been fighting racial discrimination since it was founded in 1940. Dorothy Leavell has served as the paper's editor and publisher since 1968, helping it shine a spotlight on issues important to the African American community. Now Dorothy herself will be in the spotlight as the Chicago Crusader ( link: www.chicagocrusader.com ) celebrates its 75th anniversary with a gala this Friday. She joined us in the studio with a look at the paper's history - and future.
