Woman fatally hit by two cars in Romeoville ID'd: police

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- A woman died after being hit by two cars in the south suburbs on Thursday night, police said.

Romeoville police officers responded to the crash near Independence Boulevard and Alexander Circle just after 8 p.m.

Police said 50-year-old Kimberly J. Glista was crossing in the lane of traffic when a black Lexus, which was traveling south on Independence Boulevard, hit her.

Glista was then hit by another car, a Toyota SUV, police said.

Both drivers stayed at the scene, where Glista was pronounced dead.

The crash shut down Route 53 in both directions between Normantown Road and 135th Street on Thursday night.

The Romeoville Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating and asked anyone with information to call them at 8158867219.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the crash.
