Pedestrian killed, another injured after being struck by vehicle in West Chicago, police say

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. (WLS) -- A pedestrian was killed and another was injured Saturday after being struck by a vehicle in the west suburbs.

The crash happened around 1:32 p.m. at Main and Washington streets in West Chicago, police said.

Two victims, whose genders, ages and identities were not yet announced, were hit by a vehicle at the location. They were both taken to a hospital, where one pedestrian was pronounced dead.

The condition of the surviving pedestrian was not known.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, officials said.

No further information was available as West Chicago police continue to investigate the crash.
