Man grabs girl, tries to pull her into car on South Side: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police issued a warning about an attempted child luring incident on the South Side on Thursday.

The alleged incident happened between 3:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. as a girl was trying to walk home from East 63rd Street and South Langley Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood, police said.

Police said a driver got out of his car and hugged the girl before trying to lure her into his car while offering to pay for sex.

The girl was able to walk a couple of blocks south, but then, the man allegedly grabbed her wrist and tried to pull into his car, police said.

The girl was able to get to a safe passage worker, and the suspect drove off eastbound on 66th Street.

The suspect is described as man between 30 and 35 years old who is about 5-foot-9 and weighs about 210 pounds. He wore a black t-shirt and black pants.
