CHICAGO (WLS) -- A community walk is bringing hundreds together to join the fight against Lupus.
The Lupus Foundation of America's annual "Walk to End Lupus Now" steps off Saturday, September 27th at the Lincoln Park Rowing Lagoon in Chicago.
The fundraiser plays a crucial role in bringing awareness to this silent disease, that impacts 1.5 million Americans, predominantly women and women of color. With community support from around the globe, the Lupus Foundation of America hopes to create a world where Lupus no longer exists.
Joan Pendleton, Director of Development for the Midwest Region, and Tonia Collins visited ABC7 Chicago to talk about the importance of this year's walk.
