CHICAGO -- Grammy-award winning Chicagoan R.Kelly has sold more than 40 million albums, and today he sang a duet LIVE with Val on WCL!
Val can't carry a tune in a bucket. But R. Kelly more than made up for it.
The winner of three Grammys, six American Music Awards, six Billboard Awards and eight Soul Train awards, R. Kelly's been called the King of R&B with hits like "Step in the Name of Love," "Ignition," and "I Believe I can Fly."
While on a national tour, he played a benefit concert at the Chicago Theatre to help his former music teacher and mentor Lena McLin.
"Ms. McLin is my second mother," R. Kelly said. "She introduced me to myself when I was 16 years old."
Kelly's latest album "The Buffet" is due out in November. A video for his single "Backyard Party" premiered on RollingStone.com. Check out his tour schedule and order the new album at http://www.r-kelly.com/home.
