Rainbow PUSH Coalition holds 45th Annual Convention

Seeking justice and equality, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition is hosting its 45th Annual Convention on June 25-29, 2016. The theme for the event is: A More Perfect Union: From Freedom To Voting Rights To Economic Justice. Conferences and debates will be held at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 25.

On Monday, June 27, PUSH Excel will hold its annual scholarship banquet. In the last 25 years, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and PUSH for Excellent have awarded $6 million in scholarships to more than 2,100 students in amounts ranging from $1,000 per year to $25,000. Rev. Jesse Jackson, founder of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, joined ABC 7 live to talk about the convention and the need for social change.
