CHICAGO (WLS) -- Nearly 70 volunteers pitched in Wednesday to show their appreciation for Chicago veterans.

They helped clean and renovate a shelter for homeless veterans in Englewood.

The RTW shelter serves thousands each year, providing housing, meals and job training.

This is the eighth year that volunteers from Rebuilding Together Chicago and the "Sears Heroes at Home" program have teamed up to help those who have served in the military.

Projects like this are made possible thanks to donations from sears shoppers.
