HANOVER PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- Five men were charged with reckless discharge of a firearm after they allegedly shot rounds at the ground and into the air outside of a Hanover Park residence, police said.
Eddie Bueno, 21; Ruben Murillo, 20; Raymundo Murillo, 18; Alexis Ortega, 19; and Emanual Pereida, 21, were arrested and charged after police received reports of shots fired in the 1200-block of Catalina Drive around 3:50 a.m. Saturday, officials said.
Responding officers discovered shell casings in the grass in front of a residence in the 1300-block of Court O and could hear individuals inside, but no one answered the door, police said. Bueno exited the residence and spoke with police, during which the officers determined that he allegedly owned a gun inside the residence.
Other individuals inside the residence allegedly refused to exit for a period of time, but eventually all came outside except one male, police said. The male was later located inside the residence and complied with officials.
Occupants of the residence told investigators that a 9 mm semi-automatic hand gun was taken outside of the residence and allegedly fired several times by Bueno, Ruben Murillo, Raymundo Murillo, Ortega and Pereida, police said, before the group returned back inside to the residence.
All five men are in DuPage County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
