Richard Branson recreates a scene from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" at the opening of his Virgin Hotel in Chicago.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Virgin Group founder Richard Branson recreated the iconic "Danke Schoen" scene from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" at the grand opening of the Virgin Hotel in Chicago Thursday morning.

Virgin Hotels Chicago is the very first Virgin Group hotel to open in the world.

Virgin Hotels Chicago is located in the heart of the Loop in the historic Old Dearborn Bank Building at 203 N. Wabash Ave. The 26-story Art Deco building and Chicago landmark features 250 guest rooms, including 40 one-bedroom suites and two penthouse suites. Along with the Commons Club, a space where guests can dine, drink, work and mingle, the hotel will also have four additional dining options including all-American diner Miss Ricky's and a rooftop bar and lounge.
