BATAVIA, Ill. (WLS) -- A barricade situation, which caused two Batavia schools to be under lockdown, ended peacefully Tuesday evening, police said.
Batavia High School and Alice Gustafon Elementary School were placed under lockdown at about 1 p.m. The standoff ended around 9 p.m. A man was arrested and taken to a hospital.
Classes were scheduled as usual for Wednesday.
Police handled a barricade situation in the 800-block of Roberts Lane in the western suburb. No injuries were reported and the individual was alone in the residence, police said.
The Kane County Regional SWAT team assisted.
