Man charged after shooting himself in leg on CTA Green Line platform

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man is facing charges after he shot himself in the leg on a CTA Green Line platform.

Robin Guess, 23, was on the platform at the 35th Street station Saturday morning when his gun fired, hitting him in the right leg, police said.

Guess was hospitalized and is in good condition. No one else was injured.

He's charged with unlawful use of a weapon and reckless discharge of a firearm. Both are felonies.

Police describe him as a documented gang member. Guess is due in court Friday.
