ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- An Elgin man's wife's ashes have been returned after he publicly pleaded with the person who took them. Roger Stettner says he discovered the returned ashes Friday morning around 10:30 a.m. in his yard in the same condition and box.
Stettner said he discovered his wife's ashes were taken when his home was broken into last month while he was out. His wife, Donna, died two years ago. Her remains were all he had of her, he said.
The Stettners were married 53 years. Roger plans to have their ashes buried together.
