Two people were injured when a car crashed into the creek in Rosemont Tuesday evening, police said.

ROSEMONT, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people were injured when a car crashed into the creek in Rosemont Tuesday evening, police said.

Rosemont police said officers responded to 911 call shortly after 5:45 p.m. about a car in the creek near River Road and Glenlake Avenue.

Two people were injured when a car crashed into the creek in Rosemont Tuesday evening, officials said.

Chopper7HD was above the scene where a silver car could be seen flipped upside down. Police said two adults were found inside the vehicle. They were extricated and secured to backboards before being lifted from the embankment to street level.

The two people were taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said. Their conditions were not released.

The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately clear and an investigation into them is ongoing.
