CHICAGO (WLS) -- A scorpion stung a passenger Monday during a flight to Chicago from Mexico, the airline confirmed.

The passenger "showed no adverse reaction to the sting and is in stable condition," according to statement Tuesday from the airline, Aeromexico.

Paramedics met the passenger at O'Hare International Airport's customs area, but they refused transport, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The incident happened on Aeromexico's flight AM 682 which departed from Mexico City International Airport.

This is the third reported scorpion on a plane in the last two months.

On May 11, a United plane was evacuated when a scorpion crawled out of a passenger's clothing as the flight was preparing for takeoff in Houston.

A month earlier on April 12, another passenger on a flight from Houston was stung by a scorpion when it fell on the man's head from an overhead bin.
