GENEVA, Ill. (WLS) -- Fifteen-year-old Lindsey McDonald of Geneva spent the summer confined to bed and a wheelchair, waiting for multiple broken bones to heal - the result of a horse falling on her. But rather than wallowing in self-pity, Lindsey spent her down time figuring out ways to help the less fortunate kids - and their parents - at Lurie Children's Hospital, where Lindsey convalesced.
The result is her Seeds of Love Fund, which has raised more than $4,000. More good news: Lindsey's back in school and riding horses again. You can read the full story in the Daily Herald's edition from Sunday, Oct. 19, or online at dailyherald.com.
