South Austin Coalition fights bad landlords with tenant rights info

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The South Austin Coalition on Chicago's West Side is trying to help protect families from bad landlords by talking to residents about their rights at tenants.

The coalition began going door-to-door at six neighborhood buildings whose landlords they say have been repeatedly cited for failing to provide basic needs for tenants, including heat, hot water and working smoke detectors.
