2 killed, 1 injured after SUV hits light pole in South Loop

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two people were killed and one person was injured after a SUV hit a light pole and burst into flames in the South Loop, police said.

Firefighters managed to put out the fire after the accident, which occurred early Sunday morning near Clinton and Roosevelt, police said.

The injured person is in critical condition at a local hospital.

No other vehicles were involved and the cause of the accident is unknown, as police are continuing to investigate. No other details have been released.
