Kamilla Cardoso, whose rookie season in the WNBA has been delayed by a shoulder injury, is in line to make her debut for the Chicago Sky on June 1.
Cardoso revealed June 1 as her target date to return on her Instagram livestream, and later Tuesday, Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon confirmed that the team expects Cardoso back for that day's road matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.
"I'm going to go with what Kamilla says," Weatherspoon told reporters. "I'm trusting Kamilla."
Cardoso, the No. 3 overall pick in last month's WNBA draft, suffered a shoulder injury in a Sky preseason game, with the team saying at the time that she would miss four to six weeks.
She returned to practice Tuesday and was limited, according to Weatherspoon.
"Just super excited for her to be out at practice today," Weatherspoon told reporters. "She's one young lady who's ready to play."
Cardoso, a 6-foot-7 center, is coming off an undefeated season at South Carolina. She won Final Four Most Outstanding Player in capturing her second national title in three seasons.
The Sky are 1-1 this season.
