CHICAGO (WLS) -- Parishioners in the Pilsen neighborhood are still fighting to save St. Adalbert's Church and have launched a fundraising campaign with a goal of $3 million.
The archdiocese plans to close the parish because of costly repairs needed to the church's twin towers.
Parishioners said if they can raise enough money to make the repairs, Chicago's third oldest parish can remain open.
"I believe in miracles," said Richard Olszewski. "I think a miracle is coming hopefully. I don't think god wants to lose this beautiful temple. This is his home and you feel like you're with god's presence here."
So far the parish has raised just over $100,000.
