Fashion Blogger Tavi Gevinson

CHICAGO -- Tavi Gevinson grew up in Oak Park and at the ripe old age of 11 began a fashion blog called Style Rookie. Her age and her style caught the eye of The New Yorker magazine, and she shot to fashion stardom.

She's been to New York Fashion Week numerous times, did a TEDxTeen talk, and has been the featured speaker at many events. Tavi also turned her writing and her blog Rookiemag.com to cover more of teen issues, especially feminism.

She's also a budding actress, landing a lead role in Steppenwolf's "This Is Our Youth" last year and is now living in New York. She visits WCL to talk about her life and her latest book "Rookie Yearbook Four," a sampling of the last year of her blog, which covers her senior year in high school.
