Chicago taxi drivers make $12 per hour, study says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The average taxi driver in Chicago earns $12 per hour, according to a new study that city officials call the most comprehensive of its kind in Chicago.

Cab drivers recently reported they take home less than the state's $8.25 hourly minimum wage.

The study analyzed eight months of trip-by-trip records and surveyed more than 400 drivers.
