GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- Police in Gary, Ind., are searching for a man who they think could help them find two missing people.
Police say Terrance Williams lived near 21-year-old Diamond Bynum and her 2-year-old nephew King Walker. The two left their Gary home on July 25. Police believe Williams may have information about them.
"It gives us hope because we haven't had any real leads in a week. So, knowing that they're getting closer, it's definitely helpful," said Ariana Walker, sister and mother of the missing.
Gary police said Williams also goes by the nickname "Dollar." He is believed to be a Gary resident, but police need helping locating him.
Many intense searches of Gary's abandoned buildings and dense lots have not found Bynum and Walker.
"It's been real rough. I've never been on an emotional rollercoaster like this before. Tomorrow it will be three whole weeks," said Eugene Bynum, father and grandfather of the missing.
"She's not there. She's my little buddy and she's up for anything that I want to do, and it's hard, it's hard," said Susanne Bynum, stepmother and step-grandmother of the missing.
"I'm just trying to be strong because I know that when I do get my son, he's going to need for me to be strong," Walker said.
Gary police did not release details about why they want to talk to Williams. Family members said they do not recognize the man, but hope somebody will.
