No injuries in fire at Terry's Byke Haus in Countryside

COUNTRYSIDE, Ill. (WLS) -- Firefighters cleared the scene of a large blaze at a well-known bike shop in southwest suburban Countryside.

A fire broke out at Terry's Byke Haus, located on 55th Street just off LaGrange Road, early Thursday morning. Flames were through the roof when emergency crews arrived.

"Terry's bike shop has been here as long as I know, well over 25 years. It is a fixture of the community. It's well known for the gorilla that sits out here on 55th Street, waving to everybody as they come by here to get bikes. It's a very well-known business here in Countryside," said John Buckley, of the Pleasantview Fire Protection District.

The business is connected to a few apartments. Everyone made it out safely.
