MT. CLEMENS, Mich. (WLS) -- The driver of a stolen U-Haul led police on a chase for miles down a Michigan highway.
The pursuit began on I-94 in Macomb County after the driver refused to pull over for a state trooper.
The tires shredded away, but the U-Haul kept speeding on the rims - with sparks flying.
Eventually, a deputy intentionally hit the truck and the driver lost control. He crashed into a tree before coming to a halt and surrendering.
Two police cars were damaged. Three officers were hurt, but are all expected to be OK.
The 24-year-old driver has been charged.
