CHICAGO (WLS) -- All train and railroad companies are being told to conduct safety tests following the CTA Blue Line accident at O'Hare in March.

That CTA train slammed into a safety bumper and then climbed up the escalator after the operator fell asleep. The National Transportation Safety Board says the emergency braking system activated, but failed to stop the train.

On Thursday, the government asked all transit systems to check braking systems and make sure there is enough room for trains to stop.

The CTA says it's already taken all the steps outlined in the alert from the Federal Transit Administration.
